Regardless of your current set-up, SCG will provide you with everything required for ADSL, or ADSL2 when it’s determined you are within 5km distance from a BT exchange.
Checks by an engineer
To have ADSL initially installed, for example if you are currently running a dial-up connection, an engineer will confirm your distance from the nearest exchange to ensure the signal is strong enough for your usage needs.
Once it is deemed the best solution for your communications and internet access, a contract will be written up, after which our team will provide you with the necessary equipment to move ahead.
Installation of equipment
One of the appealing factors of ADSL is the limited amount of hardware required for small businesses and home.
- Internet enabled devices
- A modem or router
Once it’s been confirmed you have appropriate access to a BT phone line, only a few essentials need to be purchased.
Ongoing maintenance?
The majority of all maintenance will be carried out in the background by our monitoring equipment. An instance where this may not be the case is a severe fault at the exchange, which BT would need to rectify, or if you outgrow the speeds you’re receiving.
Should the latter become the case, we would create a new recommendation – most likely an upgrade to hosted telephony. As a result, maintenance costs would be very low.
